Life’s ending is as important as life’s beginning and we are here to support families through the bereavement and help them say a final earthly farewell.  We work closely with the family and the funeral directors to make this process as easy as possible for you.  Funeral services can be held in your local church or conducted by a minister at one of the local crematoria.

The funeral directors are able to provide advice on many of the practical aspects of the service, including the costs involved. There is no need for you to contact the clergy direct as the funeral directors will then contact us on your behalf, to arrange for a minister to take the service. This might be a service in church and / or at the crematorium.  This could include a burial in the churchyard or cemetery for residents.

Once contacted by the funeral director the minister taking the service will contact you to discuss the service – the music, readings and prayers that you would like. Just as each person is unique, so we try and reflect their particular personality and interests in the choices surrounding the service and will be happy to give you advice and assistance with this.

The Church of England has developed a website to help people through the process of planning a funeral service.
