Census and Electoral records


Censuses of all the people living in the village are available from 1841 through to 1911. Transcripts of all the censuses are available for viewing in the Church or can be downloaded below. 

Also included and available for download are the 1937-8 and 1958 - 59 Register of Electors.

Most of the original Parish Registers are stored at the Suffolk Record Office (SRO) Ipswich, but they are not readily available to the public. All the data is now stored on microfiches that can be accessed at the SRO. Gradually the Campsea Ashe Local Heritage Group is transcribing these registers and those that have been transcribed so far are available for download by clicking on the links (Excel worksheets). These include:

Baptisms from 1800 to 1821 and 1831 to 1913

(the records for 1831 - 1858 have been transcribed from a genealogy website and not the parish records themselves)

Marriages from 1885 to 1889

Burials from 1559 to 1900

Confirmations 1908 to 1913
